Holy Shit! I just had an A-10 go over low enough that I could have hit it with a rock!

Edit: That's the second time I've had that happen to me. And yeah, by the time you hear the engines, it would be way too late. I'm glad to be one of the people they're trying to protect, instead of one of those they're trying to kill.

We are near an Army National Guard training base, as well as close proximity to Quonset Point Air National Guard Station, but I've never seen an A-10 (that I can tell) come anywhere near us. We have many helicopter forays, and lots of C-130s fly over, though. During the Vietnam War the two bases were extremely active.

I love the C-130s; they make long, slow, wide semi-circles coming in, and more than once I've noticed one of the four props on a plane is not turning.
