It's been three quarters of a century since D-Day. That seems hard to believe. I've known so many men who took part in that, even an ex-boss who parachuted into battle with the 101st, all of them gone now.

Date: 2019-06-07 03:05 pm (UTC)Personally, I prefer the alternate-alternate history in The Man in the High Castle of its version of The Grasshopper Lies Heavy where FDR only serves two terms and one of his brain trustees Rexford Tugwell succeeds him as President, entering WW2 early and winning the war prematurely, the Soviet Union collapses early, Jiang Jieshi remains in control of China, etc.
But to each their own, I suppose.
