That's something that's been on my mind of late. I'd like to be cremated. Half the ashes go to my mother or my relatives, to do whatever they wish with them. The other half I'd like spread where Chris' ashes are to be spread. It's maybe overdramatic, but it's what I'd like.

Mar. 21st, 2010 04:55 pm[Error: unknown template qotd]I have a distinct memory of sitting on the floor, watching a Mercury/Atlas being prepped for launch. It couldn't have been John Glenn, because I knew the support structure would roll back before the rocket actually launched, so I'd seen at least one before.
I'm guessing it was probably toward the end of the series (summer 1963) when I would have been about two and a half years old.
I vaguely recall sitting on my mother's lap, on the couch, watching President Kennedy's funeral. I wasn't really aware of who the President was, but my great great grandmother (who lived nearby) had just died, so I had a reference for a funeral. That's the first really huge news event that I recall.
And I remember the Beatles, and the riots, and the Soviets invading Czechoslovakia, and Bobby Kennedy, and the Moon Landings, and Nixon in China...
